TLDR: This album was written during the early stages of the 2020 Coronavirus epidemic. 100% of the digital sales income from this record will be donated to charity to help fight the pandemic and support the victims of Covid-19 throughout the whole summer (up until September 1.) Thank you for supporting.
Bandcamp does not pay for steams, so if you want to listen please do it on one of the streaming platforms: lazerpunk.fanlink.to/covenant
If you add this album to your playlists, share it on your socials or spread the word about it in any way, thank you!
This album is something I’ve been planning and working on for months, with countless, countless sleepless nights. Things have changed a lot since I started working on this project, the whole situation is different now, but what’s written here is still true, and it’s still important.
Artists can be very selfish and arrogant sometimes, thinking it is all their genius that helped them rise, but it’s never true, therefore I feel extremely lucky to have a small, yet very loyal and dedicated group of people who helped me get to the point where I am today. This is the thing that got me thinking, and made me realize it might be time to give something back to the community.
I do all the music, I run all my social media, I self-release all my records, I do everything independently and by myself, but with you guys I never feel alone in this. To emphasise that, my upcoming album is named “Covenant” which represents this covenant, this alliance between us. We all have our own problems and difficulties, but right now I’m inviting you all to focus on our strengths and possibilities instead, and use them to help those who need it the most in these dark times.
I’ll be offering 100% of the digital sales income of the album “Covenant” to victims of the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic throughout the whole summer (up until September 1). As you know the virus and its effects hit musicians especially hard, making concerts and gigs impossible, which made up most of our income. It is a very difficult time for artists and yes, it is very difficult for me as well, but I’ll be fine. There are people in much worse situations than me, and that’s why I have decided to team up with you to help them. This is a huge project and I want to thank you all for helping me get to this point where I can do things like this. I’m really proud of you all and this whole thing we are doing together.
“Covenant” will be out on all platforms on June 19, and to hype this up even more, we will also release my first ever music video for the opening track of the album, also titled as “Covenant”.
I want to make the whole project completely transparent, and you can trust that I’ll do my absolute best to ensure that 100% of the money goes to the places where it will make the most difference. I have already done lots of research and talked to some experts, so you can be sure that the money will be used honestly and wisely. Any journalist that would like to supervise the project is more than welcome to do so, and will have access to everything.
If you think this project is worthy of your support please share this album, tell people about it, and help us make it into something big that we can all be proud of.
If you are asking why I'm doing this, my inspiration came from the people who were doing way bigger things than this, like showing up every day for work, even during a pandemic, facing the danger and taking the risks as doctors, nurses, service and retail workers and all the essential workers, because they are the backbone of our society and without them it would all fall apart. This entire album is a tribute to these people who I - as a simple musician - absolutely admire.
I could say a million other things, but this description is already way too long. So thanks for everything, love you all, check the links, share the word, and let’s do this!
Also please share your thoughts in the comments on my social media accounts such as facebook, instagram, twitter, etc.. I’ll be reading and replying to all of them as soon as I can. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to improve this project, or you think you can help me with something and you want to be more involved please let me know. If you’d rather share your thoughts in private, feel free to send me a message at lazerpunkmusic(at)gmail(dot)com. Any help is greatly appreciated.
One more thing: Since the facebook algorithm on pages limits people who can see the posts I have created the “Lazerpunk & friends closed group” on facebook where I will post more about this project and Lazerpunk in general. In this group you’ll also be able to post and start conversations. I wanted to create a facebook group like this for a long time for the “inner circle” where I can speak more freely, and share more personal stuff, so if you want to know more about this, and be a part of this community you are welcome to join here: www.facebook.com/groups/1217821921882220/
